Knit-a-Thon and Knit With Love Luncheon
October 6, 2011 - Bernardsville, NJ - San Francisco based writer Lisa Bogart, author of the recently published, Knit with Love - Stories to Warm a Knitter's Heart, published by Revell, Baker Publishing Group, will be sharing her inspirational stories and signing books at a "Knit With Love Luncheon" sponsored by the Women's Association of Morristown Medical Center, on October 28 at the Bernards Inn, 27 Mine Brook Road in Bernardville. Knitters and non-knitters alike are invited to attend the luncheon, the proceeds of which will benefit Goryeb Children's Hospital at Morristown Medical Center.
Later the same day, interested knitters of any age are invited to return to the Bernards Inn for an all-night "Knit-a-thon," commencing at 7 PM on Friday and ending at noon on Saturday October 29. Participants are invited to come as they are (pajamas welcome!) and knit the night away, while enjoying refreshments, entertainment and camaraderie. "The Women's Association at Morristown Medical Center has been volunteering to provide needed items and TLC at the hospital since the hospital's founding almost 120 years ago," says Women's Association President, Beth Wipperman. "Our first ever Knit-a-thon will be a fun way to get more local people involved by bringing together knitters of all ages, from Girl Scouts to church groups. People should register and participate even if they don't know how to knit! The patterns are easy and someone will be teaching beginning stitches for knitting new-comers." Knitters will receive yarn, knitting needles and patterns for the baby booties, lap-blankets and hand-warmers that will be donated for use at Goryeb Children's Hospital. Local underwriters are Peapack Gladstone Bank and Kraemer Yarns. For more information or to sign up for a 3-hour time slot, or for an "all-knitter", visit: www.wammc.org.
